Woollard Event rider Dani Evans made a bid for her place on the seniors team for the European Championships in June with an excellent performance at Bramham International Horse Trials.

She finished second with Luana Edges Smart Time and third on her old campaigner Raphael II owned by Bishop Sutton’s Vanessa Watson. Last year Dani and Raphael made their Badminton Horse Trials debut (as featured in the Gazette)

Dani almost timed it to perfection with just 0.1 penalty between her two horses.

Bramham is considered to be one of the toughest 3* courses on the calendar which made her performance all the more impressive and to achieve these results on two horses is no fluke.

Both horses will be rested now for a few weeks before they continue on their drive for selection for September and the European Championships at Blair in Scotland.... read on
