Emborough Horse Show makes a welcome return

By Rosie Sage in Football

Emborough Horse Show returned to the show circuit this month and had some quality horses, great competition and plenty of fun for a great day for all. During the day there was a parade of the Mendip Farmers’ Foxhounds: it was a fantastic opportunity to get up close to the hounds.

Four lovely quality horses and ponies came forward for the supreme championship. The reserve champion was awarded to Scarlett ridden by Natasha Bernbaum from West Harptree who won a championship in the Vale Hollow Ring.

In the show jumping classes Rachel Denness from Farmborough on Myrtle won class 2. Myrtle is part owned by Sarah Fisher the TTouch instructor at Tilley Farm which she owns and runs with her partner the actor Anthony Stewart Head. There was also success in the showjumping arena for Elisha Ford on Manto from Chilcompton and Emily Sparkes from West Harptree riding Pamina.

Winner of the veteran horse was Red Fred with Nicki Moore of Temple Cloud, the mature rider accolade went to Tabitha Sparkes of West Harptree. Winner of the prettiest mare was Topaz ridden by Chloe Clinton of Pensford, the pony the judge would most like to take home was Tilley ridden by Evie Tucker of Clutton. Best fancy dress was won by Darcie Jones with Daisy from Chew Stoke and the 50cms show jumping (on or off leading rein) was Toby Priest from Marksbury.
