Whitchurch based rescue charity, HorseWorld will be making an appearance at The Festival of British Eventing which takes place at Gatcombe Park from this Friday. Over the weekend of 4th – 6th August the beautiful setting which is home to the Princess Royal and her family will incorporate the British Eventing Open, Intermediate and Novice Horse Trials Championships, as well as the Amateur Championship, The Corinthian Cup. As well as a weekend of top class eventing there will be a shopping village, and arena attractions with entertainment for all the family.

The HorseWorld stand (No. 75) will have displays showcasing rescued horses who have now been rehabilitated and are ready to find new homes. It is hoped that the interest generated in the rehoming scheme will help to free space at the charities 180 acre farm to rescue more horses in need.

Visitors to the stand will also have to opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a two-day course on Horse Psychology with Intelligent Horsemanship’s, Kelly Marks.

Patron of HorseWorld, Kelly Marks is a great supporter of the charity’s work. Kelly is the UK’s most popular ‘Horse Whisperer’ or putting it more accurately – specialist in understanding horse psychology and behaviour, and finding workable solutions to benefit both horses and humans.

For over twenty years Kelly Marks and her mentor, Monty Roberts have been helping horses and their humans to get the most out of their relationships. After a conversation with the Queen at Windsor Castle, Monty later asked Kelly if she could put together courses in his methods. This she duly did and became the first teacher of his methods world-wide. Monty and Kelly became Patrons of HorseWorld in 2012 as their methods of training have been found to be extremely effective when training rescued and traumatised horses.

The charity has also arranged a guest appearance and signing from British Olympic Event rider, Gemma Tattersall. Gemma who competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and also participated at the 2015 European Eventing Championships, has previously been part of the junior and young rider European Championship squads.
