Morning of free tennis at Pensford

Pensford Tennis Club is holding a morning of free tennis with equipment provided as part of the Great British Tennis Weekend initiative.

Everyone is invited to try tennis for free at Pensford Tennis Club, from 10am until 1pm on Sunday 14th May.

Pensford Tennis Club is one of hundreds of clubs across the UK taking part in the Great British Tennis Weekend initiative, a free national programme to promote and encourage tennis for all ages and all abilities. The aim of the day is to demonstrate how easy it is to get started and to enjoy the fun and fitness of a game of tennis. On the day, Pensford Tennis Club will provide rackets and balls and beginner taster sessions by resident coach, Dan Church. Current tennis club members will also be on hand to welcome newcomers and make up pairs. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Pensford Tennis Club chair, Sue Grimes, says: “The Great British Tennis Weekend is a great way to learn more about the game and have a go. At Pensford Tennis Club we’ll be offering a fun day of tennis for all the family.

“You don’t need a partner to join in the fun as club members will be there on the day to help. If you haven’t played since school days, then don’t worry, our expert coach, Dan, will soon put you at ease and if you want to play better tennis and improve your game then come along and find out more about our range of membership opportunities.”

Dan Church, runs a comprehensive and effective coaching programme which is open to members and non-members alike, and which caters for all levels of ability. Pensford Tennis Club is an LTA affiliated club. Courts and club house can be found at The Memorial Hall Playing Fields, Publow Lane, Pensford BS39 4HW.
